Volvo S60 Previewed to Blind Artist

It would be a year before Volvo unveiled the new Volvo S60 car at the Geneva Motor Show. Until then nobody was allowed to see it – but still, Volvo wanted to create online buzz and discussion to get people excited about the reveal.

 We invited a gifted blind artist into the top secret Volvo headquarters to preview – and paint – the car for the first time, and share his drawings with the world.

 A YouTube teaser of blind artist Esref Armagan previewing the secret car at Volvo headquarters in Gothenburg, inviting viewers to Like the Volvo facebook page in order to view Esref’s first impressions, ask him to draw specific features of the car and watch the full documentary of Esref drawing and painting the new S60.

Esref’s signature painting was sold on eBay for a record price – and proceeds went to the World Blind Union.

A film attracted million of viewers and new fans to the Volvo Fan Page on Facebook, discussions were started and the interest only grew when the final documentary was published online.
